OK, here is my next discovery. I’ve now figured out how to decode images saved to the VMU by means of DreamPassport/DreamKey. Now, I can take the .VMS file made by an upload and convert it to an image. I’ve only tested it on a .gif file, I’m about to run it on a JPG.
I don’t know if there is any practicly purpose for this, but yep.
OK, I’ve got the image detection up in my library script so now whenever you view a VMU File a) listed in the Browser Images or b) the VMS file is DREAMKEY.P** or PASSPORT.P**, you will see a link entitled “View Image”, this will decode the VMS file so you can view the image.
Ok, another change.
The link is no longer “View Image”, it is now “View Multimedia”… why the change you ask? I now know how to decode MIDI files, so now when viewing the VMU save directories, any files that are DREAMKEY.O** or PASSPORT.O**, or any vmu files listed under the directory Browser Music will be selectable.
A rule about the decoding program.
ANYONE CAN VIEW THEM!!!!!!
Well, planetweb users can’t listen to the midi file due to the fact that Planetweb sucks and doesn’t have midi support.
Now, for the next challenge which I don’t think will be as easy… these PSO snapshot files.
Ok, the multimedia program is completly intergrated into the VMU library… I’m thinking about making a decoder for the bookmark files also, so you can see what url’s are on the bookmarks.
I can do this now with most VMU files… does the idea of being able to preview the add-on’s first sound ok?… hmm
I’m going to think this over as i study my bed for 7 or 8 hours.
great great great…
you are the vmu messiah i have hoped for for a looooong time…
i am trying to figure out how i am going to put all this on the group front page…— insidious_plots
